Elevate Conference 2016

e1

Welcome to Elevate! The Elevate Blog Conference was designed to provide an opportunity for bloggers to meet together in an uplifting environment to get to know each other, build relationships and be inspired to take their blogs and businesses to the next level. The day was spent hearing from speakers, attending workshops, networking, working on a service project, crafting and enjoying one another’s company. They believe that every blogger’s story is important and can only be told by that one person.  This day is designed to drive that message home and leave you feeling empowered to make your blog whatever you dream.  Whether you are a lifestyle, craft, fashion or food blogger…even shop owner, this conference is for you.e2

They had 3 amazing speakers:

Jenica Parcell

Jenica started A Slice of Style to share great deals on anything from fashion to furniture, and it has turned into a lot more than that since! She and her husband experienced infertility while trying to start their family and after struggling through 3 IUI’s and 2 rounds of IVF, she decided to share their experiences when they started their 3rd round of IVF. Jenica discovered joy in connecting with others through the ups and downs, and they are now expecting twins in August! She continues to share great deals to help others save money, and she also shares the more personal side of her life throughout pregnancy now through letters to their future children.

Rebecca Lopez

Rebecca Lopez is a mother of two boys, living in sunny Arizona. For years she worked in management until becoming a stay at home mom. In 2011, looking for a way to share her creativity and to inspire others to create no matter their skill level she created The Crafted Sparrow. Her site became a place to share her passion for all things DIY, specializing in Crafts and Home Decor. Rebecca has partnered with many brands such as Coca-Cola, Target, World Market, Joann Fabric and Crafts, and Cricut to help bring the brands to life for readers.

Chari Pack

Chari found joy in documenting through photos even as a young child. In Elementary school she took it upon herself to publish her own DIY 5th grade yearbook by gluing highlight photos throughout taken with her 110 camera and stapled pages together. She sold the yearbook for $2.50.  20+ years later memory keeping is still her passion. In 2009, Chari converted to digital scrapbooking as a preferred method of documenting her personal family story however she could not find a way to print quality archival 12×12’s at an affordable price. After her long search, she saw a need and created her own; Persnickety Prints.  Before founding Persnickety Prints, Chari helped numerous organizations increase their online presence and revenue through her creative services. Chari’s excellent merchandising knowledge and marketing expertise comes from over 10 years of service at the retail industry giant, GAP.  Chari’s go to camera is the one in her pocket and she loves teaching others how to rock their mobile photos too.

And also had a Business Panel featuring:

Business Panelist: Ashley Reeves

Ashley is a Utah mom of 3 boys and 1 baby girl. She loves cooking in the kitchen with her family and feeding them healthy whole foods. Ashley has been sharing her love of healthy cooking and family at Ashley’s Fresh Fix and on instagram for 2 years and has worked to build a strong community of women who she is constantly inspiring to have better body image and to love themselves. Ashley also teaches others how to build business, curate community and monetize using social media. She loves teaching, sharing, and helping others!

Business Panelist: Amy Twitty

Amy Twitty is the girl behind the shop Liv and Hope! A mom of two little girls and hopefully more one day!  It started one day after she made her daughter a children’s tent. When friends and family started asking where they could find them she faced her fears and applied for her first boutique to start selling her items.  As nervous as she was, she pushed forward in her goals and decided to also start having all her proceeds go towards their adoption fund for their next child. NOW she sells women’s t-shirts designed with motivation, laughter, and real mom moments. Still with all proceeds going towards their 3rd adoption and she also helps other families in what ways she can with the huge financial cost of adoption. Her passion in life and love of family and friends is what keeps her motivated and cracking up daily! With a love of design and creating projects you will typically find Amy with a Diet Coke in one hand and her cell phone in the other making business calls or texting an old friend.  She is grateful each day that she has the support and love from her amazing husband and sassy daughters to keep her motivated.

Business Panelist: Vanessa Quigley

Vanessa Quigley is a mom, wife, trained opera singer and most recently Chatbooker-in-Chief. Chatbooks gives Vanessa the ideal place to combine her big picture vision, desire to hold onto what matters, and get-it-done attitude that raising seven children has instilled in her. Chatbooks’ affordable, automatic and simple photo books were Vanessa’s brain-child after realizing her youngest son didn’t have his own
childhood scrapbook. Vanessa drives Chatbooks’ creative engine and product design to make sure the functionality is simple and easy to use. Prior to Chatbooks, Vanessa relished her role as Mom-in-Chief, managing the wonderful chaos of her growing family.  Vanessa has a degree in Vocal Performance and Pedagogy from Brigham Young University, sings (opera!) whenever she can, enjoys the theater, being in the mountains with her family, and finding the humor in life–especially important while raising a growing family!  Connect with Chatbooks on Instagram.

This was my first year attending The Elevate Conference.. Jen and Summer, the founders of the conference, definitely impressed all those who attended with their vision and execution of what the Elevate Conference is all about.  Every detail from the organization, to the food all went off without a hitch.  This was by far the best blogger based conference I have attended.

All those who attended were there with similar intentions and vision.  It is always helpful to surround yourself with like minded individuals who have a drive and vision to succeed just as you do. It was a veritable blogger/small business think tank which I’m sure gave each individual who attended some good insight on how to grow and improve. Each blogger that I chatted with had an amazing story and came from all over to attend this event.  After leaving this event I truly felt it was a worth while opportunity for any and all that attended.
